Terms of Service

These terms are a binding agreement between you and Simonas Tamkevicius, a sole proprietorship in Ontario, Canada, trading as Traeva ("Traeva", "we", "us").
By using traeva.ca or creating an account, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
Please read section 3 in full. It is the most important part of this document and the part most likely to matter to you.
1. What Traeva is
Traeva is a research tool. It applies a published, mechanical scoring model to public company filings and market prices, and shows you the result.
It produces a score out of 100, a signal label, and supporting analysis. It is software output, generated automatically, without any human reviewing whether the result makes sense for you or for anyone.
2. What Traeva is not
- It is not investment advice, financial advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security.
- It is not a personalised recommendation. The model does not know your finances, goals, tax position, risk tolerance or time horizon, and does not ask.
- We are not a registered investment adviser, dealer, or portfolio manager in Ontario or in any other jurisdiction.
- We are not your fiduciary and owe you no duty of care in respect of investment outcomes.
- Traeva is not a broker. You cannot trade through it and we have no connection to your brokerage.
Signal labels such as "Strong Buy" are names for score ranges produced by the model. They are not our opinion of what you should do and must not be read as such.
3. Investment risk — read this
You can lose money. You can lose all of it.
- Past performance does not predict future results. The model is built from historical filings, and history is not a forecast.
- The model can be wrong, and will be wrong. It is a set of formulas applied to reported figures. It cannot detect fraud, does not know about pending litigation, does not read the news, and will keep scoring a company confidently while something it cannot see destroys the business.
- Source data comes from third parties and from company filings. It may be wrong, stale, restated or missing. We do not independently verify it.
- Scores change. A company that scores well today may score badly next quarter, and we are under no obligation to tell you.
- Every investment decision you make is yours alone. If you act on anything you read here, you do so entirely at your own risk.
You should speak to a registered financial adviser who knows your circumstances before making investment decisions. Traeva is not a substitute for that and does not pretend to be.
4. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract.
- One account per person. Do not share credentials.
- Everything done through your account is your responsibility. Tell us promptly at support@traeva.ca if you think it has been compromised.
- We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, attempts to circumvent access controls, or abuses the service. Where we terminate without cause, we refund the unused portion of the current period.
5. Subscriptions and payment
Price. Pro is $9 USD per month unless stated otherwise at checkout.
Billing. Payment is processed by Stripe. We never receive your card details.
Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You are authorising a recurring charge.
Cancellation. Cancel at any time through the billing portal, reachable from your account. Access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate partial months.
Refunds. We will refund the current month if you ask within 14 days of a charge and have not used the paid features materially during it. Beyond that, refunds are at our discretion. This does not affect any statutory right you have under Ontario consumer protection law, which we do not attempt to exclude.
Price changes. We will give at least 30 days' notice by email before any price change affects you. If you do not accept it, cancel before it takes effect.
Free tier. The free allowance — currently three full reports and a limited watchlist — is a convenience, not a contractual entitlement. We may change it. Existing paid subscriptions are unaffected.
6. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the service, or use automated means to extract data beyond normal reading.
- Resell, redistribute or republish scores, reports or the weekly email as your own product.
- Share a paid account with people who have not paid.
- Attempt to bypass the paywall, access another user's data, or probe the service for vulnerabilities without written permission.
- Use the service to break any law, including securities law.
Quoting a score with attribution and a link is fine and encouraged. Rebuilding our database is not.
7. Intellectual property
The scoring model, the software, the presentation, and the Traeva name and marks are ours. These terms grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service for your own research. Nothing more transfers.
Underlying market data and filings belong to their sources — the SEC, exchanges, and our data providers — and their terms apply to that data.
Notes you write remain yours. You grant us only the licence needed to store and display them back to you.
8. Availability
We provide the service "as is" and "as available". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, timely, error-free, or that data will be current. We depend on third-party providers and inherit their outages. We may modify or discontinue features at any time; if we discontinue a paid feature entirely, we will refund the unused portion.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any score, report, or figure.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this may not apply to you.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any investment loss, lost profit, lost opportunity, or any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damage arising from your use of Traeva — including any decision you make on the basis of a score.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) CAD $100.
This limitation applies regardless of the form of the claim and even if we were advised the loss was possible. It does not limit liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the service, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction, and you consent to their venue.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your place of residence.
Before filing anything, please email support@traeva.ca. Most problems are misunderstandings and are cheaper to fix by talking.
13. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. Material changes will be emailed to registered users at least 14 days before taking effect, and the date at the top will change. Continuing to use Traeva afterwards means you accept the revision. If you do not, cancel and stop using the service.
14. General
If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stands. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us. You may not assign them; we may, on notice, in connection with a transfer of the business.
